Collecting reviews on a Shopify store is not the challenge. Collecting them systematically, acting on negative ones before they compound, and using the positive ones to drive additional sales across email and paid channels, that is where most brands leave significant value on the table.
The Loox and Klaviyo integration addresses all three. Here is how to set it up and how to build the flows that make it generate results consistently.
Does Loox Integrate with Klaviyo?
Yes. Loox has a direct integration available for brands on the Growth plan or above. Setup takes less than ten minutes.
How to Connect Loox with Klaviyo
- 1.In your Klaviyo account, navigate to Account Settings and generate a private API key
- 2.Copy the API key to your clipboard
- 3.In Loox, navigate to Settings, then Integrations, then select Klaviyo
- 4.Paste the API key into the designated field
- 5.Click Test to verify the connection
- 6.Save
Once connected, Loox begins pushing review event data into Klaviyo automatically. The integration is live from this point forward.
Understanding the Loox Data in Klaviyo
The primary event that Loox sends to Klaviyo is called 'Loox Review Submitted'. This event includes the review rating, the written content if provided, and whether the review included a photo or video. All of this becomes available as event properties for use in flow triggers, conditional splits, and segments.
The rating property is the most strategically important. It allows you to build entirely different response flows for positive reviews versus negative ones.
The Flows to Build
Flow 1: Thank You for a Positive Review
Trigger this flow when 'Loox Review Submitted' fires with a rating of 4 or 5. The immediate email should thank the customer specifically, reference that their review helps other buyers make confident decisions, and then offer a relevant next purchase recommendation. A customer who just left a positive review is your most commercially warm audience in that moment. The flow should capitalize on that warmth.
For customers who submitted a photo or video review, consider an additional thank you with a higher-value offer or early access reward. Photo reviews are significantly more persuasive to prospective buyers and worth a slightly elevated incentive to collect.
Flow 2: Address a Negative Review Before It Becomes a Problem
Trigger this flow when 'Loox Review Submitted' fires with a rating of 1, 2, or 3. The email should reach the customer within the hour, acknowledge their experience without deflection, and provide a direct path to resolution, whether that is a replacement, a refund, or a conversation with support.
The goal of this flow is not only to resolve the specific issue. It is to prevent a dissatisfied customer from becoming a vocal one before your support team has had the chance to turn their experience around. Brands that respond to negative reviews quickly and genuinely convert a meaningful percentage of detractors into repeat buyers.
Segments to Build From Loox Data
- ◆All 4+ star reviewers (high lifetime value indicator, strong upsell and cross-sell audience)
- ◆Photo reviewers (ideal for UGC-focused campaign sends and retargeting audiences)
- ◆Negative reviewers who were successfully resolved (win-back candidates with a specific context)
- ◆Subscribers who have never reviewed despite multiple purchases (high-potential review request targets)
Using Loox Reviews in Klaviyo Campaigns
Once you have a meaningful volume of 4 and 5 star reviews, pull the most specific and emotionally resonant language from them and use it in your campaign copy. Customer language consistently outperforms brand-written copy in email because it is recognized as authentic rather than promotional.
A campaign to your 5-star reviewer segment with a subject line that references their positive experience and an offer tied to their reviewed product category produces click and conversion rates that most brands have never seen from a broadcast send.
One client using this integration framework collected over 3,000 reviews in a single year. The volume was not the objective. The objective was a systematic review process that produced usable social proof, resolved issues before they compounded, and fed review data back into segmentation and campaign strategy.
